My name is James Hu and I am running to be your next judge in Harris County Criminal Court at Law Number 14. If you are here, it is because you believe in giving me an opportunity to uphold justice on behalf of Harris County. If you are here, it is because you believe in the principles of fairness, integrity, and dignity for everyone in the courtroom.

As a prosecutor in Texas for nearly a decade, I have navigated the criminal justice system at both the state and federal levels. My experience is diverse, ranging from handling low-level traffic offenses to complex federal fraud cases. I have practiced in various courts, including county and district courts in Harris and Fort Bend Counties, as well as federal courts in the Southern District of Texas. In my current role as a Chief Assistant District Attorney at the Harris County District Attorney's Office, I work closely with law enforcement to develop strong cases and raise the standard on criminal investigations. This work builds on my past service as a Fort Bend County Public Integrity Assistant District Attorney and an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of Texas.

A proud Taiwanese American, I was born and raised in Houston. After graduating from Bellaire High School, I earned my bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Chinese from Trinity University. I then returned home to the University of Houston to earn both my law degree and an MBA. Following in the footsteps of my parents, who immigrated from Taiwan and built businesses here, I am deeply committed to this community. This is my home, and I am dedicated to serving its people and pursuing justice every day.
