Key Principles

Fairness

Justice in Harris County should be equal for everyone. I will hear every case with a clear mind, free of bias, and apply the law the same way—every time, for every person.

Integrity

Trusted, proven judgment in the courtroom. I will follow the law consistently, weigh the facts carefully, and make decisions without favors or politics.

Dignity

Respect for the law, the process, and the people of Harris County. I will protect due process and treat every person in the criminal justice system with dignity, with respect.

Fairness

Justice in Harris County should be equal for everyone—no matter your background, your neighborhood, or your ability to hire a lawyer. I will hear every case with an open mind, free of bias, and focus on the facts and the law. That means applying the same standards in every courtroom decision, every time—so outcomes aren’t driven by politics, pressure, or who someone is. Fairness also means listening closely, ensuring both sides are heard, and making rulings that are consistent, transparent, and rooted in the rule of law.

Integrity

Integrity is doing the right thing when it’s hard—and when no one benefits from it politically. I will follow the law consistently, weigh the evidence carefully, and make decisions based on the record, not outside noise. No favors. No backroom influence. No special treatment for anyone. In the courtroom, integrity means clear reasoning, steady judgment, and accountability—so the public can trust that every ruling is made honestly, independently, and with the responsibility this job demands.

Dignity

Every person who enters the justice system deserves to be treated with respect—victims, witnesses, defendants, families, and court staff alike. I will protect due process, uphold constitutional rights, and ensure proceedings are conducted with professionalism and humanity. Dignity means running a courtroom where people are heard, language is respectful, and the process is understood—not rushed or degraded. You can be firm and still be fair. You can enforce the law and still treat people like people. That’s the standard I will set for Harris County.
